BUILDING MORE SCHOOLS IN MILTON

MILTON – Today, Parm Gill, the MPP for Milton, is pleased to announce another new school for Milton. This is the fifth new school for Milton in just over two years.

The province has given Halton District School Board approval to tender the new Milton SW #11 elementary school. The $21.4 million investment will provide a new, quality-learning environment for the students of Milton, as well as new childcare rooms. This project is part of the province’s $500 million capital investment program to support students with better learning spaces.

“I will continue to take strong action for our families and students so historic investments, like the new SW#11 school, will continue to happen,” said MPP Gill. “As a father of three, our children’s education is a top priority for me. I am proud to say this is the fifth new school being built in Milton since I was elected in 2018.”

The new SW#11 public school will be located north of Britannia Road, East of Tremaine Road, and will include the following:

  • 770 elementary student spaces;
  • 88 new licensed childcare spaces; and
  • 5 new childcare rooms.

“From modernizing our curriculum to revitalizing our classrooms and their facilities, we are investing in our students and giving them every tool to achieve their full potential,” said Education Minister Stephen Lecce. “Our financing of the new Milton SW #11 further demonstrates our government’s historic investment in Ontario’s schools and our overall commitment to supporting our students and families.”

“The funding for this new school is great news for our community,” added MPP Gill. “We are not only building new schools, we are building new opportunities for our children to succeed.”
