BUILDING TOWARD A BETTER FUTURE

Thanks to the tremendous efforts of Miltonians, the Ontario government, in consultation with Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore, has released A Plan to Safely Reopen Ontario and Manage COVID-19 for the Long-Term.

As the member of Provincial Parliament for Milton, I am proud that our community has one of the highest vaccination rates in Ontario. Thanks to the tireless work of our health care heroes, and everyone doing their part to keep themselves and loved ones safe, we are beating this pandemic one vaccination at a time.

The Ontario government’s recent plan to safely reopen the province outlines a gradual approach to lifting the remaining public health and workplace safety measures by March 2022, so that we can all get back to the things we’ve missed.

Ontario’s cautious approach to reopening aligns with the province’s commitment to protect the health and safety of Ontarians. This gradual approach will help prevent widespread closures, protect our health care system and keep our schools open.

This phased approach will be guided by Dr. Moore and the ongoing assessment and monitoring of key public health and health system indicators.

To help, our government will continue to be there for people and their families in Milton and across the province.

As a former small business owner, I know the impact the pandemic has had, but thankfully, the light at the end of the tunnel gets brighter every day.

Our government will keep supporting our local small businesses every step of the way. I encourage everyone to shop local and show your support.

This plan is built for the long term. It will guide us safely through the winter and out of this pandemic and ensure we don’t lose the hard-fought gains we have all made, together.
