MILTON MPP PARM GILL ANNOUNCES ONTARIO TRILLIUM FOUNDATION GRANT TO LOCAL RECIPIENT

MILTON ON – Today, the Member of Provincial Parliament for Milton, Parm Gill, announced the Government of Ontario is continuing its support of new, innovative projects in Milton. These projects are helping to keep our community healthy and vibrant.

MPP Gill and Janice Moro, an Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) volunteer were at Italia Fest on Sunday to formally congratulation the Italian Canadian Club of Milton (ICCM) on receiving a six-month, 121,300 Capital grant from OTF earlier this year. This grant has made ICCM’s location more accessible so that everyone in the community is able to join in with the many activities that take place there. The grant was used to make upgrades to the entrances, main hall, and washroom facilities.

“With this capital grant provided by our government, through the Ontario Trillium Foundation, we are building a more inclusive community,” said MPP Gill. “This initiative is enriching the lives of 10,000 people by giving them proper access to cultural and heritage spaces in Milton.”

The Italian Canadian Club of Milton works to provide inclusive and accessible social and recreational activities to ICCM members and the Milton community while promoting Italian heritage and culture.

“With the help of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, we are building a NEW ICCM,” said Tony Leone, President of the Italian Canadian Club of Milton. Rosanna Conteduca, Vice President of the Italian Canadian Club continued, “We are building on our Founders vision to create an accessible and inclusive facility that continues to celebrate the Italian Culture.  Respect Yesterday—Embrace Today—Celebrate Tomorrow!”

The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of Canada’s leading granting foundations. OTF awarded $108 million to 629 projects last year to build healthy and vibrant communities.
