MIRACLE ON MAIN

With the Christmas season now here, so too is the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation’s annual Miracle on Main. In partnership with the Halton Region Police Services, Miracle on Main is a time-honoured tradition in Milton, and a tremendous way to get in the holiday spirit through the miracle of giving.

Christmas is a time of giving, especially this year. There are still many families in our community who are less fortunate than others. This year the need is even greater. Thankfully, through the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation and their Miracle on Main toy drive, we can all join them in making a positive difference.

In a true showing of their Ontario Spirit, we continue to be resolute in our commitment to helping those in need. This year, Miracle on Main, is moving online. With donations being accepted until Christmas eve, every dollar raised will go towards the purchase of a new toy. If able, people are also encouraged to donate a new, unwrapped toy.

I am grateful this important tradition will continue. For the last eleven years Miracle on Main has raised much needed funds through donations and sponsorships for families, local charities, and public schools, along with purchasing thousands of toys for kids at McMaster Children’s Hospital and SickKids.

During this time of giving, Christmas will be celebrated differently this year. Even though we will be distanced from our extended family, we will be closer than ever to those with whom we live. The holidays are a special time so many of us, and while we all want to spend time with family and friends, we must celebrate safely. By following this public health advise, we can all have a safe and fun holiday season.

Small businesses remain open in our community; their recovery is critical to Ontario’s recovery. I want to encourage anyone who can, to support our local businesses by shopping local, and most importantly, shopping safe.

As the MPP for Milton, I want to wish you and your family, a very Merry Christmas and a happy holiday!
