MPP GILL HOSTS INFRASTRUCTURE ROUNDTABLE WITH MILTON BUSINESS LEADERS

Cutting red tape and regulatory burdens has been a key pillar of our government’s mandate. With the passing of Bill 47, Making Ontario Open for Business Act, 2018, and the introduction of Bill 66, Restoring Ontario’s Competitiveness Act, 2018, the impact has been significant.

There are currently about 117,291 regulatory compliance requirements in legislation and regulations that impact business in Ontario.
The Premier has publicly committed to cutting red tape and regulatory burden by 25% which could help achieve over $400 million in savings to Ontario businesses by reducing the cost of complying with regulations.

The aim of the roundtable was to reduce the regulatory burden on infrastructure development, while ensuring appropriate regulatory oversight to protect the public, workers and the environment is maintained.
