MPP PARM GILL CONTINUES TO PROVIDE STRONG ACTION FOR SCHOOLS IN MILTON

MILTON, ON – Today, the Premier of Ontario, Doug Ford, the Minister of Education, Stephen Lecce, and the Member of Provincial Parliament for Milton, Parm Gill, are pleased to announce the Government of Ontario’s historic investment in Milton.

The province has given the Halton Catholic School Board approval for a new $41.3 million Catholic #3 secondary school, along with an additional $17.2 million for the new #10 Catholic elementary school.

“I am proud to keep fighting for the families and students of Milton. As a father of three, investments into our children’s education is a top priority for me,” said MPP Gill. “We are not only building new schools, we are building new opportunities for our children.”

“Today’s announcement is wonderful news for our school district as a whole, but more importantly, it is wonderful news for the families in our growing community of Milton,” said Patrick Murphy, Milton Catholic District School Board Trustee.

“A new Catholic elementary school will address the rapid growth in our community,” added Trustee Duarte. “We look forward to proceeding with the next phase of the approval process so that we can begin construction on these two schools,” said Marvin Duarte, Milton Trustee & Vice-Chair of the Halton Catholic District School Board.  

The province has also given the Halton District School board approval for a new $19.1 million Milton SW#12 elementary school.

“This tremendous investment will provide a new, quality learning environment for our students,” added MPP Gill. “This is great news for our community.”

“From modernizing our curriculum to revitalizing our classrooms and their facilities, we are investing in our students and giving them every tool to achieve their full potential,” said Education Minister Stephen Lecce. “Our financing of the #3 and #10 Catholic Schools, and the SW #12 Public School, Further demonstrates our government’s historic investment in Ontario’s schools and our overall commitment to supporting our students and families.”

We are so pleased that we can get started on yet another new building which will educate thousands of Miltonians for many years to come. “Special thanks has to go to MPP Parm Gill, Trustee Heather Gerrits and our incredible staff at the Halton District School Board who continued to build support for and advocate for this much needed school,” said Donna Danielli, HDSB Trustee, Milton Wards 1 &2.

“With these three new schools, we are spending a combined total of $77.7 million for Milton. This investment, along with new Milton SW1 high school, the expansion of Bishop Reding and St. Peter’s elementary, and the creation of CS Viamond are just some of the examples of how I am focused on student success in our community,” added MPP Gill.
