ONTARIO INVESTING IN HALTON HEALTHCARE SERVICES

HALTON REGION, ON – Ontario is investing $935 million more in hospitals this year, including $594 million to meet current and future demands for regular service in the province, representing a three percent overall increase in funding to the hospital sector.

Today, Stephen Crawford, MPP for Oakville, Parm Gill, MPP for Milton, and Effie Triantafilopoulos, MPP Oakville North-Burlington, announced that the Government of Ontario will provide over $5.2 million in operational funding to Halton Healthcare Services for 2020/21.

“These are certainly difficult times, and this funding will help us in part, mitigate the effects of COVID-19,” said MPP Stephen Crawford. “We sincerely appreciate this additional funding to ensure our healthcare system in Halton continues to be effective for everyone at present and in the future.”

“These are extraordinary times that demand extraordinary measures,” said MPP Gill. “We are going to protect the health of Ontarians by building a sustainable and connected health care system.”

“The frontline staff of Halton Healthcare and Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital are at the heart of our community’s health care,” said MPP Effie Triantafilopoulos. “By investing $5.2 million more in Halton Healthcare we are helping our health workers do their jobs keeping us safe and healthy.”
