Congrats to all on a successful school year

As we head into the summer, I want to congratulate each and every student and graduate for a tremendous 2022-23 school year. As well, thank you to every parent, guardian, educator and support staff for making this past year such a success.

Communities across Ontario re-elected our government on a plan to get it done, and I am proud to say that is exactly what we are doing.

We are improving the delivery of public health care, introduced our plan to boost math, reading and writing skills for students and passed Bill 91, Less Red Tape, Stronger Economy Act 2023.

As the Minister responsible for Red Tape Reduction, this Act will help our Main Street businesses grow, pave the way for better public services and save people and families time.

By removing unnecessary red tape, we are now saving businesses over $800 million each year, Ontario has attracted billions of dollars in new economic investments and we have helped create over 660,000 new jobs.

As we continue to strengthen our economy, we are also investing millions of dollars to support Ontario workers.

This includes free training for autoworkers and people with disabilities; investing more than $500,000 in two free projects to prepare 1,350 jobseekers, including women and Indigenous people in northern Ontario, and expanding safety training.

We are investing over $200 million to train more than one million workers, as we continue to modernize the infrastructure of Ontario.

Simply put, our government is making sure nobody is left behind.

Recently, I had the pleasure of announcing an investment of over $51,000 to the Milton Seniors Active Living Centre through the Seniors Community Grants (SCGs).

This community centre brings seniors aged 50 and older together and offers opportunities to participate in a healthy lifestyle through fitness, recreation, and social activities.

As a proud father of three, I am grateful to see so many families come out and support local events and businesses in our community.

It is local events like the DBIA Summerfest and the annual Strawberry Fair that makes Milton the best place to live, work, and raise a family.
