ELIMINATING BARRIERS TO BUSINESS

As the MPP for Milton, I know how important new housing and new jobs are for our community. They are not only important for the future economic strength of Milton, but also for Ontario.

Recently, I hosted a roundtable forum with different levels of government, along with business leaders in Milton, to understand the barriers and the frustrations that arise when dealing with government regulations. We are working to change it.

This is why our government is continuing to introduce legislation that reduces red tape and other regulatory burdens — it supports economic growth, which creates more opportunity, putting you and your family first.

We have introduced legislation that will reduce many of the 380,000 regulatory red-tape burdens that limit opportunity in Ontario, and aligns us with other provinces across the country. With our legislation, we are creating the right environment for job creators to succeed. We have witnessed the creation of 272,400 jobs since we took office last June, but our work continues — we will continue to help create jobs, while protecting workers.

Our slogan, Open for Business and Open for Jobs are not just words: they are guidelines that focus our actions and continue to shape our policy.

However, our open for business strategy will not be at the expense of our environment. Our government has gone to great lengths to ensure we maintain current policies that identify natural heritage systems, and protect the Greenbelt, while working to mitigate the effects of climate change.

I want to hear your concerns, so I may continue to be a strong voice for you, and our community. If I can be of any assistance for you, please, contact my office so we can schedule a meeting at either my office, or another location that is convenient.
