Investing in Our Children’s Education

Recently the brand new Rattlesnake Point Public School welcomed students for its inaugural 2022/2023 school year.

The opening was made possible through historic government funding of $21.3 million, followed by an additional $1.5 million, bringing the total investment to $22.9 million.

It offers over 900 student spaces, including five child-care rooms to make sure we are giving our students every tool needed to achieve their full potential.

The new Halton Catholic District School Board’s #10 Elementary School also welcomed students for the first time this school year. It was an honour to announce an $18-million investment from the Government of Ontario to provide our children with over 600 student spaces and five child-care rooms.

Located at Kennedy Circle West, this new school is delivering on our commitment to supporting students, teachers, and families.

In just a few short years, our government has approved, and development has begun, nine new schools and five expansions in Milton. These projects are part of our government’s vision for modernizing our student experience and revitalizing our classrooms.

As a father, this is a top priority for me because we are not only building new schools, we are building new opportunities for our children to succeed.

Caring for our children includes offering safe, supervised programming both inside and outside of the classroom. That is why it was wonderful to help announce continued provincial funding to the Town of Milton for sports and recreational activities for children and youth from kindergarten to Grade 12. Doing so will help ensure they have every opportunity to be active and healthy.

This program will help kids stay active and engaged through unstructured play and activities like basketball, dancing or soccer. It will also help students develop important leadership skills and provides personal wellness, anti-bullying, and nutrition education.

By investing in the success of our children, our provincial government is taking strong, determined action to get it done for our community in Milton and across Ontario.
