SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON GO STATION

There have been inaccurate comments and misinformation about the Milton GO Station expansion.

The fact is that since the election, I have been working closely with Metrolinx to prioritize the infrastructure investments that we need right away. As a result, we are adding 850 additional parking spots. I also took immediate action to ensure there are temporary spaces available at the Milton Superstore, so parking is not interrupted when construction begins.

Public transit is part of our focus to get Ontario moving, which is why the Government of Ontario is improving GO services to make them more accessible and productive.

Our government made travelling using GO services easier by allowing kids 12 and under to ride for free on all GO trains and buses, as part of our plan to make transit more affordable. Ontario continues to put families first, because free trips for children will help families save money and offer parents a better alternative to driving.

In fall 2019, I was proud to announce at the Milton GO Station that 1,475 GO buses and trains will have reliable and high-quality Wi-Fi beginning in the spring of this year.

More and more people depend on their phones to be able to work, study and keep in touch with friends and family during their daily commute; bringing Wi-Fi to GO trains and buses will make travelling on GO Transit a better, more convenient experience for people in Milton and across the province.

I am proud to say that the Government of Ontario remains committed to improving the quality of life in our province that all Ontarians deserve.

As the MPP for Milton, I want to hear your concerns, so I may continue to be a strong voice for you and our community. If I can be of any assistance, please contact my office so we can schedule a meeting.
